EXPOSURE DEFINITIONS

• For the purposes of this document and execution of the work described herein the following definitions will apply:

 
Exposures
 
Non-Corrosive Exposure: A normally dry interior exposure that neither is, nor normally subject to mechanical damage. No chemical exposure exists
Mild Exposure: A normally dry exterior exposure that neither is, nor normally subject to mechanical damage. No chemical exposure exists
Moderate Exposure: A normally dry interior or exterior exposure, subject to incidental mechanical damage and that neither is, nor normally subject to any chemical exposure.
Severe Exposure:

An interior or Exterior exposure subject to intermittent wetting by liquids or misted with pH of 40-10 and/ or subject to mechanical damage.

Process Exposure: An interior or exterior exposure subject to continuous wetting with liquids or mists with pH below 4 or above 10 and/ or subject to mechanical damage.
Immersion Exposure: An exposure where the lining applied to the steel substance is designed to protect both the steel and the commodity inside a tank or vessel.
